​Brigade radar sensor audio-visual alarm systems from Scale and Control Inc. are an effective solution for industries such as mining, quarrying, agriculture and construction using machines and plant equipment where surroundings are harsh. In such environments, vehicles are exposed to the elements more aggressively while thick dust and darkness decrease visibility further, where radar could strongly complement camera monitoring. 
Backsense® heavy-duty radar sensor systems are designed to detect people and objects in blind spots, significantly reducing accidents. They detect stationary and moving objects, providing the driver with in-cab visual and audible warnings – alerting the operator whose attention cannot be focused on all danger areas. Backsense® obstacle detection sensors work effectively in harsh environments and in poor visibility including darkness, smoke and fog.
Backsense® radar sensors are available in programmable models allowing customizable detection areas and the ability to calibrate-out fixed objects or bodywork.

Each connected radar sensor is allocated a unique ID and is fully independently programmable.
  • Allows you to connect up to 8 radars
  • Connection to vehicle CAN via CAN gateway
  • Maximum Detection area for each sensor is 98ft (30m) length x 33ft (10m) width
  • Detected objects are buffered and filtered to remove false alerts
  • Separate CAN message & ID for each object detected (up to 8 object messages per sensor)
