Frequently Asked Questions
  1. What is the operating voltage? Operating voltage for WLS is 9-36Vdc.
  2. Scale will not display weight.
    A. Material is not set up correctly. Make sure Unit Type and Sales Unit are selected.
    B. Make sure Attachment is calibrated. In the Attachment list, validate the "Calibrated" box is checked.
    C. Validate the attachment was calibrated with 2 known loads. First being an empty bucket. Second being a known bucket full of material.
  3. I can't log in. Ensure you type the Username and Password in completely. CAPs matter. Do not select the auto fill words from above the keyboard.
  4. Mobile printer won't print. Ensure the paper compartment is closed. Ensure the battery is charged and unit is turned on.
  5. My tablet won't connect to the scale. Ensure the tablet is connected to the SSID: SCI-Scale-XXXXXXXXXXX. If you use the tablet on a different network when not using the Scale, ensure that the auto reconnect feature is turned off of the other network. The tablet will connect to Wifi signals that have Internet access before connecting to the Scale.
  6. Scale shows weight for a brief moment then goes away. The prox switches should stay on when the loader arm is above the "weigh" point. If the prox switches turn off above the "weigh" point the weight will disappear from the display. You need to adjust the positioning of the switch bracket to ensure both prox switches stay on when above the weigh point.
  7. My changes to the "Manual Calibration" won't save or are not being reflected on the HOME screen.
    A. Ensure the tablet is connected to the SCI-Scale-XXXXXXXXXXXX SSID.
    B. Ensure you have "SET" values on each calibration point and then "SAVE". Upon changes to the Calibration, you must reselect the Attachment on the home screen. This will purge the old calibration data and refresh the program memory.
  8. Do the transducers have to go into specific areas? No, either transducer can be mounted in either circuit. However, both must go in the loader arm circuits and one must go in the loader arm piston circuit and one in the rod circuit. To clarify, the Piston side refers to the closed end of the cylinder tube. Rod side refers to the side that has the chrome Rod extending from it. Generally the left and right side pistons and rods are tee'd together respectively.
  9. Does the control module need to be mounted in the cab? No. The electronics including the sensors and all connector that come from the factory are IP67 min. The only piece this does not apply to is the fuse holder and cover. If water ingress is a concern, drill a small weep hole in the bottom of the cover to ensure water drains from it.
  10. Can I install the scale on a different machine if I upgrade / buy other machine? Yes, you will likely need different adapters for the new machine. SCI stocks most adapters and are available for purchase.
